Welcome to the 17th Annual Steinway Young Artist Competition, sponsored by Steinway of Chicago (formerly The Beautiful Sound). The competition offers students valuable performance and educational opportunities as well as scholarship awards to the top 8 winners. There are two divisions: Solo Piano and Concerto. The winner of the Concerto division will have the opportunity to perform with the Ars Viva Orchestra.
There is no minimum age requirement. The maximum age is a high school senior (age 18).
This year's judges will be Dr. William Phemister and Cameron Smith, both outstanding international concert artists and educators.
The competition will be held at Steinway of Chicago, 1205A Butterfield Road, Downers Grove, Illinois on Friday, February 1, Saturday, February 2, and Sunday, February 3, 2008.
